I thought we
might tempt Mr Aspinall to either attend, or at the very least register an
  objection,

Dear
  Mr Aspinall,
As I
am sure you know, there are planning applications presented to Shepway DC for
the construction of seven wind turbines, some of which are fairly close to
your zoo.  The reason I am writing to you is that there is a meeting in
Sellindge Primary School hall next week, Thursday 27th at 7.30.
Many
people have been invited to attend, including our Shepway M.P, Damian
Collins, local press representatives, hopefully Meridian TV, and the company
who propose to erect the turbines, Ecotricity.  Also there with be
  people from Lympne and Stamford.
I
thought you might be interested to hear the story of the effects of infra
noise on animals, in this instance, the effect on my granddaughter’s rabbit.
She
has a house rabbit, and as a third year Law student, moved into an apartment
above a food outlet shop in Windsor.  The rabbit started acting in an
erratic way, and became ill, biting chunks of fur from his pelt.  He
would not eat or drink, and started to have kidney problems.  The vet
could not understand why a previously healthy animal should be in this
condition.  After a lot of visits, the vet suddenly asked whether there
were any plug in devices in the house which were aimed at preventing rats and
mice from invading.  When my granddaughter got home, she found them in
the wall sockets.  She had thought previously that these devices were
the room fragrancers, which I use myself.
Once
she unplugged the devices, things improved, but it took a long time, and a
lot of care.  The vet said that this animal had become ill as a result
of these devices, which emit infra sound, inaudible to the human ear, but
  harmful to some animals.
Wind
turbines emit black noise, also known as infra sound, and as you have so many
animals, who could be affected, you might have questions of you own to ask
  Ecotricity.
We
would very much welcome your attendance, and if you could write to Shepway
Council to register your objection, I am sure they would take a lot of notice
of such an important organisation as yours.
With
  kindest regards,
Mavis
Turton, member of Sellindge Residents’ Association. |
