Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to register my objection to the construction of a wind turbine at the site of the above application.
You will already have a list of my objections to the other 6 proposed wind turbines in Sellindge, and all of my comments there stated apply to this application.
In addition, I would like to add that Sellindge Parish Council seem to have accepted this proposal because they were under the impression that the turbine was intended to provide electricity for the sole use of the farm business of Mr Price.  I am not completely familiar with the details of how much electricity the turbine would produce, but I would have thought that a farm of this size would not need a generator of such height.
Perhaps the planning officers have details of Mr Price's past electricity bills, and compared them with the estimated power generation of the turbine he wishes to have installed.
If there is little difference, then I feel that the upset to the local community would be completely unjustified.  I would hope that the farmer would not wish to avail himself of any financial gain following the installation, as he has already publicly stated that he does not like to have to rely on subsidies.
These turbines are a new technology, and the long term effects upon the mental and physical health of those residing nearby could be threatened.  Certainly the mental health issues caused by the worry that the council will approve these monstrosities, is already being damaged.  Other councils around the country are taking a democratic approach when the community affected objects, and I see absolutely no reason why Shepway should do things differently.
