The decision notice for the quarry has appeared on the KCC website. It is a very dense form of document (13 pages long) and includes the list of conditions that KCC have applied.
These can be viewed at the top of the second coloured section down, in the right-hand column, named 'Otterpool Waste Application - Latest'. Just click on the link entitled "List of conditions KCC have applied" to read, scrolling up and down as you wish or you may prefer to print the document. Once you have finished viewing, just click on the back arrow at the top left of your screen to return to here, the "Home Page".

Otterpool Waste - Information following KCC meeting

Here is an informal preview of what is yet to be published officially by KCC planning ……………………….........................................................................
KCC say the list of "Conditions" raised by the Sellindge & District Residents' Association at the Planning Committee meeting on 16th March - that KCC referred to both during and at the end of the meeting - is acceptable and the spirit is acceptable and they will incorporate these "Conditions" onto their list of conditions.
The "Conditions" can be seen at the top of the 'Otterpool Waste Treatment' Section (2nd coloured Section down in the right-hand column) Just click on the link within this Section entitled 'Planning Conditions' to view. Once you have finished click on the back arrow at the top of the screen to return to here.
These "Conditions" will help force out the detail that has been so lacking during the application process, and from that the possibility that the development will become increasingly harder to justify economically.
They have a planning consent.
They now have to cross many demanding  hurdles to be able to start building.
They have equally demanding hurdles to be allowed to operate the site.
We have to make sure that these hurdles are kept as high as properly required, and no circumvention of the requirements.
Other information in the 'Otterpool Waste Treatment' Section include on-line news from a variety of sources and hopefully will be available for a while. The local papers out this week should include further detail. This will be updated here early next week.

Breaking News - KCC PLANNING HEARING - Otterpool Quarry Waste Treatment - Confirmed 15th March

Anaerobic Waste Recycling Plant application – confirmed - 15th March

KCC have confirmed the hearing of the Countryside's Otterpool Anaerobic Waste plant Application will be first on the Agenda at the planning meeting on Tuesday 15th March for consideration.

Please remember that County Councillor Susan Carey says such demonstrations do have a big effect so please make a huge effort to be there. Coaches have been re-booked for Tuesday 15th March to take protesters to County Hall Maidstone. People will need to be at the Village hall by 8.20 am, leaving on the dot at 8.30 am. The early departure is necessary due to the hearing starting at 10 am, the time it takes to get to Maidstone (including rush hour and being market day) and needing to present our Petition and be settled in place before the hearing. If you would like to join us on the coach then we are just asking for a £5 donation to the Residents’ Association.

If you have not already done so, please contact Margaret Ludlow via
email mjludlow@toucansurf.com or telephone (01303) 813 369 as we need to know if you want to reserve a place on the coach

Any further information will be published as soon as available - keep watching!!

The local papers will include the latest and hopefully local TV !!

Maximum Speed Limits

Subject: Maximum Speed Limits

Hi,

I wanted to draw your attention to this important petition that I recently signed:

"No to 80mph speed limits"
http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/no-to-80mph-speed-limits/?utm_medium=email&utm_source=system&utm_campaign=Send%2Bto%2BFriend

The petition is primarily motivated by increased accident risks and the consequences and is absolutely right in this context.

But remember also that as speed increases so does the noise generated by engines and tyres on the road.  It is only a few years back that great trumpeting was made of the resurfacing of the M20  with 'quiet tarmac'.  Whatever good that has achieved will be undone if the speed limit goes up.

Increasing the speed limit seems to against all natural logic......more dangerous, more noisy, and far more consumptive of fuel.

I really think this is an important cause, and I'd like to encourage you to add your signature, too. It's free and takes just a few seconds of your time.

Please click on this link for further information .......   Useful, inevitable, obvious conclusions

Thanks!

regards,

Otterpool Quarry - now listed in the Preferred Options Consultation on Waste Site Plans

From Our County Councillor, Susan Carey, in the Sellindge Newsletter there is a section Susan has written regarding Otterpool Quarry as follows:

"I had some news about Otterpool Quarry which came out too late for inclusion in my report but by the time this newsletter comes will be available on the KCC website www.kent.gov.uk .

Otterpool Quarry is now one of the sites listed in the Preferred Options Consultation on Waste Site Plans.  I want to stress that this does not change any of the obligations on Countrystyle to get a permit from the Environment Agency and fulfil the conditions of it planning permission before it can start any waste operations. It is, however, recognition that Countrystyle has obtained planning permission for the site. The consultation runs for 8 weeks till 23 July 2012."
