Ms Turton,

I saw your letter on Slurry.org.

For your information you can get a tree preservation order for trees not on your property although there is certain criteria though such as whether the tree is under threat etc. 

We managed to get a preservation order on Park Wood - where they want to put the lorry park, because we found a rare species of plant.

Hopefully you will get some information from Shepway.  I believe the tree officer is a man called Dave Sephton.
